each answer has 4 choices and there are 3 questions = 4 × 4 × 4 = 64
Susan has 3 choices for her skirt and 5 choices for her blouse. How many different combinations are possible for her outfit?
Number of choices = 3 × 5 as for each skirt she could choose (3) there are 5 different choices that could go with it for blouse = 15
