Arthur runs a video game business called Space-Zone. One Saturday Arthur surveys the amount of money each customer spends at his Space-Zone store. How many customers spent less than $20?
a. 52
b. 48
c. 23
d. 21
this is quite a tricky question and needs to be read very carefully
there are 100 customers and we need to consider those people who spent more than $20 (have to do this one backwards)
52 people spent $20 or more (all those people that spent $25, $30 etc would also have spent $20 so we only need to count them once)
so out of 100 people, 52 spent $20 or more, this must mean 48 people spent less than $20
