    Find the age of the child through the Young’s rule : $$0.6 = \frac{y\times A}{y + 12}$$

    0.6y + 7.2 = Ay

    7.2 = Ay – 0.6y

    y(A – 0.6) = 7.2

    $$y=\frac{7.2}{A-0.6}$$

    The average blood pressure of a person aged y years measure in millimetres of mercury (mm Hg), is given by P =  110 + y/2. At what age is a person’s blood pressure 124 mm Hg?

    $$124=110+\frac{y}{2}$$

    $$14=\frac{y}{2}$$

    28 = y

    ∴ 28 years old
